here are tons of places to go out in Amsterdam. You can go to Leidseplein or Rembrandtplein and find all the bars and clubs I don't like (exception: Bourbon Street - bluesbar in Leidseplein area). On this page I will introduce to you the places I do like, and why.
1. Winston Kingdom
Winston is part hotel part dancing/bar. It is located at the Warmoesstraat, between the red light district and the Dam (square). It is a place where you might find live acts and you can dance. It is not too big, this makes it quite cosy. The crowd is a mixture of locals and tourists. One used to be able to actually smoke pot here, but I don´t know if this is still the case.

2. Pacific Parc
Located west of the center of Amsterdam, there is a huge terrain called the Westergasfabriek., A couple of years ago some people have made a real effort to turn the whole Westerpark into a cultural hotspot. and they succeeded. One of the places at the Westergasfabriek is Pacific Parc.
Here you can dance in a nice relaxed atmosphere. The music varies a lot. You might hear ska, soul, rock, blues, even jodelmusic(!). No pleasing the crowd kindof dj’s. They are playing what they like and I like their taste. A lot. There are also live acts, see their calender. It serves as a restaurant too but I have never eaten here. Lot of people in their late 20,s and 30’s but last time I visited the crowd seemed to have become younger (early 20ies).
What is so special about Pacific Parc Amsterdam?
No fency disco or nightclub here. Just a relaxed place to be with original music, chances to dance and meet nice open minded Amsterdam people.

3. Casablanca
Ok, time to get embarrassed. This is a karaoke joint. It is where bachelorparties take place, It is where the oldest DJ of Amsterdam DJ Johan hears people singing Paradise by the Dashboardlight each and every nght. It has all the ingredients to be a place you will never want to visit. But.... it just is so much fun! It is very lively and people tend to be upbeat and happy. And yes I am a sucker for karaoke and so are my friends. So what can I do? Casablanca rulez.
What is so special about Casablanca?
Cannot be compared with anything. Casablanca is Casablanca.
